Build Green NM Amendments to the
ANSI National Green Build Standard
as approved by the Build Green NM Advisory Board.
Policy regarding enforcement of amendments
1. Acceptance date of Project Registration (by BGNM) sets date for enforcement of amendments.
2. Non- mandatory amendments and optional practices are available immediately for any registered projects.
3. Mandatory amendments will be dated 90 days from time of approval by the BGNM Advisory Board.
BGNM Amendment I approved July 7th, 2009
702.3 NM Alternative Performance Path Compliance As an alternative to 702.2. Any building that qualifies as an Energy Star Qualified Home and scores at the following HERS Index will achieve the following level in Build Green NM for Energy Efficiency.
HERS 85 Bronze Level (30 points)
HERS 70 Silver Level (60 points)
HERS 50 Gold Level (100 Points)
HERS 40 Emerald Level (120 points)
702.3.1 NM Building projects that take this alternative may not take any points from section 702.2 Performance Path or section 703 Prescriptive Path
702.3.2 NM Building projects that take this alternative shall apply points earned in Section 704 Additional Practices and section 705 Innovative Practices to the additional points required in Table 303 of the ANSI NGBS.
702.3.3 NM Building projects that take this alternative may not take points earned in section 704 and 705 to raise the level in Section 7 Energy Efficiency above that allowed by 702.3
(Note that section 702.2 requires documented analysis of features implemented to achieve energy cost performance that exceeds the 2006 ICC IECC as stated in section 702. This is not equivalent to a HERS Index. Additional points from Section 704 and 705 may be used to raise the level achieved in section 702.2)

902.3 Radon Control. Buildings located in Zone 1. This practice will become Mandatory for projects registered January 1st, 2010 or later. (amended from being mandatory immediately). |
